Making a Power of Attorney

Many of us fear that, with advancing years our health and/or our mental capacity may suffer.  In such circumstances, it is prudent to consider giving a Power of Attorney to a close relative, friend, or in some cases, a professional adviser.

Since 1 October 2007, Lasting Powers of Attorney can be made through which you can appoint another person(s) to manage your financial affairs and/or to make decisions about your medical welfare.

Enduring Powers of Attorney properly made before 1 October 2007 may validly be used after that date but, generally apply only to financial affairs.

Our experienced team of professional advisers are available to help you make appropriate decisions regarding Lasting Powers of Attorney including what form they should take and who to appoint as your Attorney(s).
